Pre Skills Ages 4 and 5

|

Practice spatial awareness and social skills while playing in imaginative activities that
channel high energy.
|
What a magical age, so much energy so much imagination! That is what our PRE SKILLS program
taps into. Here your child will find a perfect outlet for their unique energy and creative
thinking as they run like dragons, hop like frogs and learn to samurai warrior walk.
|
Introductory Ages 6 and Above

|

Learn respect for self and others while practicing physically challenging and fun activities.
|
Your child will discover the joy of non competitive activity in our INTRODUCTORY classes.
The win-win principles of blending with aggressive energy and genuine connection with
others are taught through imaginative games and activities. Our philosophy of teaching
is to blend with kids at their skill level and always provide positive feedback and
encouragement.
|
Basics Ages 8 and Above Or with permission of Sensei

|

Increase focus and the ability to work cooperatively with others through learning basic
techniques and training with staff and sword.
|
BASICS classes continue the training begun in the introductory level. Now your child is
ready to begin learning more about Aikido training and principles by practicing basic techniques.
They discover the origins of techniques as they learn new skills with the wooden sword and staff.
We always invite you to witness their rank tests where they will amaze you with their graceful,
sensitive and sophisticated movements.
|
Teens

|

Achieve setting and reaching long term goals and learn to handle increased responsibility,
while acquiring core values and body integration.
|
Imagine your daughter or son going off to college with the confidence that a black belt in
Aikido brings. Our TEEN program builds confidence in body, mind and spirit. Your teen works
both with peers and adult mentors. Teens practice how to ground and extend energy, advance
falling, weapons training and dealing with multiple attackers. Learning to remain relaxed
in stressful situations while increasing sensitivity and awareness is invaluable for the
teen years and beyond.

Sensei Joanne Veneziano

|

Our sensei Joanne Veneziano brings her love for Aikido to your child. A firm, loving
approach creates a nurturing environment where all can learn. She has developed a children’s
program that has taken many kids form white belt to black belt form shy to outgoing, from
awkward to confident, from bully to pacifist. Joanne started teaching children as a brown
belt in 1989 and continues that journey today as a 6th Degree Black Belt. Her caring for
others manifest itself off the mat as an Emergency Room Social Worker at Harborview Medical
Center and in developing breath retraining courses for
The Breath Connection.
